Breads Muffins and Crackers

Breads, Muffins and Crackers

Live Yeast and Hot Yeast Breads

Live yeast cells can pass through the stomach acids without distruction and later grow in the intestines, causing fermentation and destroying B vitamins from the food materials in the intestines.

Nutritional yeast flakes do not present these problems, scince the yeast cells have been killed in the drying process. Nutritional yeast flakes and other yeasts are very good sources of vitamin B.

Hot bread or live yeast cells can also be one cause of yeast problems. Yeast-raised foods should be thoroughly baked and cooled 8-12 hours before they are eaten. They may be reheated if desired. Use cooking spray in the baking pans, and the loaf won't stick.
